Each evening at dusk from March to November, up to 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats fly from their cozy home underneath the Congress Avenue bridge in downtown Austin. And every day of the year, up to 2.6 million tacos are consumed by hungry Austinites and tourists in old school Tex Mex restaurants, hipster hangouts, food trucks and home kitchens all over the city. That number has been thoroughly researched — don’t even bother to look it up.
So when we asked our friend Keith Davis Young to design a shirt that evoked the spirit of Austin, it made total sense that he perched one symbol of the city majestically atop the other. Then we screenprinted it onto a 11"x14" Nightshift blue French Paper and brought it to you, the people.
